A prominent figure in the telecommunications industry, Yasser Shaker is widely recognized forhis strategic leadership and transformative impact. He became CEO of Orange Egypt (OEG) in 2018, during a particularly challenging period and has successfully turned around the company, restoring profitability after years of losses and raising EBITDAaL margin by more than 10 points. He led the expansion of the 4G network, launched 5G services, and grew the customer base to over 33 million, supported by a workforce of more than 8,000 employees.
Previously, he served as Chief Technology and Information Officer for Orange Middle East and Africa, where he played a key role in implementing the Group’s digital strategy. He notably introduced the ESCO (Energy Service Company) model and led one of the largest technical modernization programs across the region.
With over 28 years of international experience, Yasser combines multinational corporate and country-level expertise, with strong local insight across the telecom sector. Passionate about talent development, he currently chairs the Advisory Committee of Enactus Egypt, mentoring over 3,000 university students each year. He is also a board member of the El Sewedy Technical Academy and a supervisory board member at the Université Française d’Égypte.
Yasser Shaker holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Cairo University and an MBA with honors from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Rennes. He speaks fluent German, English, Arabic, and French.
