Speaker Bio
Richard Ndahiro is an international expert in inclusive finance and digital innovation with over 17 years of experience across retail banking, microfinance, digital finance, and fintech in Africa. He specialises in digital financial services, fintech integration, and innovation ecosystems, with a focus on expanding access to finance for MSMEs, startups, and underserved communities. At the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), he supports governments across East and Southern Africa and beyond in developing national strategies, digital financing frameworks, and policies that embed digital transformation into development agendas.
He has previously held senior technical and leadership roles with FINCA International, Banque Populaire du Rwanda, and JICA, where he spearheaded initiatives in retail banking transformation, digital product innovation, and rural development. Richard holds an MSc in Applied Economics from the University of Rwanda, a Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation and Design Thinking (MIT/Columbia Executive Education), and several professional certifications in fintech, marketing, and digital innovation.
