Speaker Bio
Brian is the Executive Head, Mobile Financial Policy & Regulation at Vodacom Group. He is a seasoned financial services regulatory professional with more than 18 years of experience in the sector.
In his current role, he provides strategic policy and regulatory support to Vodacom and M-Pesa operating companies in Africa, outlining the Group’s regulatory strategy for broad-based financial services covering various policy and regulatory disciplines. He also works closely with the public sector, supporting the establishment of enabling policy and regulatory frameworks for mobile money.
His early career started in banking before joining Safaricom PLC in Kenya, where he led the M-PESA Legal and Regulatory support function. He thereafter worked at the GSMA, where he led the Mobile Money Programme’s Advocacy and Regulatory work.
Brian holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Law and is a Certified AML Specialist.
