Speaker Bio
Bernadin Bavuge is an environmental scientist with a master’s degree in Environmental Economics and Natural Resources Management. Over the past 12 years, he has worked extensively in the fields of environment and climate change, contributing to the development and implementation of key national policies and strategies, including Rwanda’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the national carbon market framework.
As an Environment and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Specialist, Bernadin provides strategic guidance on building resilience to climate change and developing guidelines on mitigation and adaptation at the national level. He also serves as Rwanda’s National Focal Point for the Article 6.4 mechanism under the Paris Agreement and coordinates the Designated National Authority (DNA) Secretariat’s activities related to carbon markets.
