Nick Barigae

National Bank of Rwanda, Deputy Governor and Board Vice Chairperson

Speaker Bio

Nick Barigye is an accomplished executive with extensive experience across finance, investments, and leadership. He currently serves as the Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda, a position he assumed in July 2025.


Before joining the Bank, Nick was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Crystal Ventures Ltd (CVL) in 2025. Over more than a decade, he held various leadership roles within CVL, including Senior Investment Analyst and Group Operations Officer, and in its subsidiaries, where he served as Finance and Administration Manager at Inyange Industries and Deputy General Manager at NPD Ltd.


Nick also led Rwanda Finance Limited as Chief Executive Officer for six years, where he played a key role in developing and promoting the Kigali International Financial Centre (KIFC). Earlier in his career, he was Managing Partner at Karisimbi Business Partners, an Africa-focused investment and advisory firm, and CEO of Mount Meru Soyco Ltd, a company operating in agro-processing and manufacturing.


He holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Strathmore Business School in Kenya and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the National University of Rwanda.


Outside the National Bank, Nick served as Board Chairman of Zigama Credit and Savings Bank and serves as a Non-Executive Director at Green Hills Academy.
