Bente Krogmann Osore is an entrepreneur, insurtech executive, and non-executive board member with over a decade of experience driving innovation, financial inclusion, and scalable growth across Africa.
She currently serves as General Manager of bolttech in Africa one of the world’s most global insurtechs, headquartered in Singapore. Under her leadership, bolttech Africa is pioneering embedded insurance solutions and digital distribution models that expand access to protection across the continent. To date, her work has contributed to reaching over 1 million customers across five markets, advancing financial resilience for individuals and businesses alike.
Bente is also an active non-executive board member. She is passionate about supporting boards that are shaping the future of financial services, technology, and inclusive growth in emerging markets.
Her journey in Africa began more than 10 years ago, working on public-private partnership projects in Rwanda and Tanzania before settling in Kenya. Getting to understand the local market, she founded her first venture, Extreme Clean, a carwash business that she successfully scaled to 20 locations before exiting.
In 2020, she launched mTek, a fully digital, paperless insurance platform designed to simplify and demoratise access to insurance. In 2025, mTek was successfully acquired by bolttech, integrating the platform into a global ecosystem spanning 39 markets across four continents.
Bente is a two-time founder with exit and has been recognised as one of the leading women in Africa raising venture capital, navigating complex funding environments to scale high-impact businesses. She is known for combining strategic vision with executional grit, and for building organisations that balance commercial success with meaningful social impact.
Leadership & Impact
Under Bente’s leadership, bolttech partners with over 45 leading underwriters, hundreds of distribution partners, and multiple financial institutions across East Africa. The organisation is addressing one of Africa’s most critical challenges - low insurance penetration - by making insurance simpler, faster, and embedded into everyday customer journeys.
