Dorcas Karimi

WHO, Digital Finance Officer

Speaker Bio

Dorcas is a Digital Finance Officer at the World Health Organization (WHO). She has over a decade of experience in inclusive finance, having served in various roles in technical advisory and implementation across the private and humanitarian sectors. In her current role, Dorcas is part of the Digital Finance Team in the WHO Africa Regional Office, whose mandate is to support WHO member states in Africa in digitizing payments for frontline health workers in vaccination programmes.


Before joining WHO, she was the Head of Distribution for Afrimoney, a mobile money venture established by the leading Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in Sierra Leone, Africell. She has also worked as a technical advisor to financial institutions, regulators, and donors in markets across Africa and Southeast Asia with MicroSave Consulting Limited.


 
Dorcas holds a degree in Economics and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Sustainable Development at SOAS (University of London).
