Speaker Bio
Hon. Dr. Shadric Johny Namalomba is Malawi’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology and Member of Parliament for Mangochi Southwest. He brings over 25 years of multi-sectoral leadership spanning corporate finance, tax administration, auditing, international trade and entrepreneurship.
He holds a PHD in Business Management, an MBA and a Bachelor of Accountancy with Credit. His professional credentials include Fellowship of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK) Certified Public Accountant (Malawi),
Certified Internal Auditor (USA), and a licence as an Insolvency Practitioner.
A dynamic entrepreneur, he founded successful ventures in construction, hospitality and audit, and serves as Executive Chairman of Eco Group of Companies. His board – level contributions include Umodzi Holdings and Malawi College of Accountancy.
Minister Namalomba’s institutional impact is anchored in his role as the pioneer Director of Finance and Administration for the Electricity Generation Company of Malawi (EGENCO), where he established the company’s critical financial and administrative frameworks. He later shaped national and regional trade policy as Commissioner of Customs and Exercise for the Malawi Revenue Authority and as Chair of the SADC Subcommittee on Customs Cooperation.
In the private sector, he has served as Lead Advisory and Audit Partner at Crowe Horwath and as Regional Internal Audit Manager for Illovo Sugar Limited, covering Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania. Elected to Parliament under the Democratic Progressive Party, he now leverages his deep expertise in strategic management, corporate governance and multisector transformation to drive Malawi’s ICT agenda and inclusive socio-economic growth.
