Alain Maupin is a global telecommunications leader with more than 35 years of experience transforming networks and accelerating digital connectivity across five continents. As Vice President and Head of Ericsson East and North Africa, he drives regional growth, strategic partnerships, and technology innovation in some of the world’s most dynamic markets.
Before this role, Alain served as Key Account Manager for the Airtel Africa Group, where he strengthened commercial performance and co-developed long-term technology roadmaps across multiple countries. His career also includes senior roles in R&D and product strategy — notably leading 3G and WCDMA product management at Ericsson’s China R\&D Institute and contributing to the evolution of GSM and 3G technologies.
Known for a leadership style built on partnership, trust, and action, Alain blends deep technical expertise with strategic business insight to translate innovation into real world impact.
He holds Executive Program degrees from INSEAD, London Business School, Boston University and the London School of Economics, a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Digital Signal Processing with Honors from Université Paris-Est Créteil, and a master’s degree in computer systems networking and telecommunications from Sup Galilée.
