Session Description
In a globalised, ever-evolving digital environment, characterised by rapid change in economic, social, and technological conditions as well as internationalised competition, the role of regulations is crucial. As digital technologies reshape markets and business models, legacy regulations are struggling to keep pace. In many countries, overly rigid frameworks and high compliance costs are holding back investment and slowing innovation — especially in telecoms. This session explores how future-ready regulation can reduce asymmetries, encourage fair competition, and unlock growth across the digital ecosystem. From streamlining compliance to minimising regulatory intervention, what reforms are needed to ensure policies remain transparent, coherent, and pro-innovation? How can we modernise regulatory environments to be fit-for-digital — safeguarding consumers while enabling open markets, investment, and sustained progress?
